Altereco Design is a boutique building design practice with an ethos of efficiency, sustainability and practicality. We are proudly Passive House (Passivhaus) accredited and enjoy collaborating with health and future-conscious people.

AlterecO2 is borne out of a need for clever, functional design and the frustration towards insufficient building standards whilst also responding to the needs of our climate. Our series of pre-designed and pre costed homes offer our clients the ability to streamline the design and build process without compromising on functionality or performance.

We have developed a network of quality-focused local builders, who we can trust to execute our projects and nurture our clients. Each home in the series is pre designed, pre-costed and has been designed and detailed to meet Passive House standards (if desired). The range currently includes seven home designs; each one is named after an endangered Australian animal in recognition of the impact house development has on the loss of habitat throughout Australia.

AlterecO2 offers clients a complete Finishes, Fixtures, Fittings & Appliance Package that reflects the construction budget; offering both a standard and premium range. We are conscious of the products and materials we specify; we are considerate of how they’re sourced, their durability and the importance of minimising toxicity within a home. 

By using the Passive House methodology we can ensure that we are creating a building that is healthy and comfortable; the by-product is a building that operates on very little heating and cooling demand. Our details and specifications ensure our homes will outlive us and contribute sustainably and functionally for generations to come.
